Foundations in Finance: **For Credit** This is a high school course developed by Dave Ramsey and his team. It provides students an opportunity to learn, practice, and apply important personal finance knowledge and skills. The 12 chapters are aligned with the National Standards for Financial Literacy to earn ½ credit upon successful completion. There will be approximately 2-3 hrs of homework each week, worksheets, and graded tests. Students will need access to the internet for completion of some of their work. Textbooks need to be ordered prior to the beginning of class. Assignments will be emailed prior to the first class and weekly. ISBN#: 9781936948192 (2014 ed) . Life Skills: What do you need to know to be ready to leave high school? We will be tackling several different topics that are critical to master for the successful high school student. Some of these may include planning & preparing meals; home maintenance; building strong relationships; strong conversational skills (written and verbal); basics of getting a job, banking, working. Come join us as we prepare for the next phase of life!

Cake Decorating: Learn how to ice and decorate cakes and cupcakes with buttercream icing. At the end of the semester you will make and decorate a cake that you design. All cake, cupcakes and icing will be provided except what you will need for your final project. There are a couple other supplies needed but those are included in class cost. Students will be expected to practice at home each week and to bring their decorating kit, and other supplies with them each week to class. This class can be messy, so I suggest you bring an apron or a large shirt to go over nice clothes. Please alert me to any food or dye allergies. We will use products that contain eggs, dairy, food dyes, wheat, and possibly chocolate.
Teach One, Lead One: Teach One Lead One teaches universal principles to lead youth into a life of purpose and potential. The class will build character, and leadership skills in students through powerful training, practical materials, exciting presentations, and hands on activities. Light homework will be given each week.

Study Hall: This class time will be perfect for those who need to work on their school work whether it is online, dual enrollment, or text book work. This class is NOT a free period – students are expected to bring school work to stay busy the entire period. Phones will not be allowed, any electronic usage will be monitored to be scholastic in nature. Classroom will have wi-fi capabilities.

Youth Rec: Students will participate in physical fitness with a fun twist. All students will gain physical and mental fitness. This class will involve exercise and games. Students will be expected to adhere to the CHAT dress code while wearing fitness attire.

Hospitality and Tourism: Tourism offers ever expanding career opportunities. In this class we will discuss different careers available in the tourism industry. The class will also learn about different areas that are tourist destinations. There is a possibility of a couple of speakers and also research pertaining to career options.
