Beginning Sewing: This will be a class aimed at teaching the basics of sewing, including mending, alterations, hemming, and basic machine usage. 2-3 weeks into the class, students will bring their own sewing machines to the class, and we will learn basic sewing techniques. Some fabrics and supplies will be furnished by the teacher, and some will be purchased by the students.

Great Wars: Goodbye to boring history that you and your child both dread! I love History and this class is designed to engage your child, help them put history in a very real perspective and be able to have true conversations about the historical events surrounding some of the most pivotal wars of all time. There will be outside reading, movie and homework assignments that each student is expected to turn in. There will be quizzes and a final. Upon completion of all assigned work, this class can be used for 1/2 credit in History. There will be a field trip to the Holocaust Museum in Kennesaw at a small fee. Some books will be available to borrow, some may have to be found or checked out by the students.

Begin: Based on a book from Ken Ham, this class presents foundational and relevant portions of Scripture, along with a powerful mix of commentary, historical information and helpful detail to give you an overview of the Bible. Students will use excerpts from God's Word beginning in Genesis to communicate a time line of history from the beginning of time to Christ, and then to the New Heavens and New Earth to come. Books will be provided.
Basics with Essential Oils: This class will learn the vital components in our King's medicine cabinet. We will journal a "recipe book" that you'll take home. We will study the safety of using essential oils. This will open up many options for you and your family to use essential oils in daily products. It will be an exciting semester! (This class will require a parent to sign a special waiver to allow their child to work with essential oils. Proper safety will be taught and enforced in the classroom.)

Street Law: This class will teach how the law is structured and what it means to be an empowered citizen. We will learn from guest speakers in the different fields of the law throughout the semester.

Fiber Art: Learn the ins and outs of working with fibers in all sorts of forms. Crochet, knit, felt ... come explore your crafty side. The teacher will be purchasing starter needles and some beginning supplies for projects to be completed by the students and then kept. There may be additional minimal purchases needed.

Life Skills: Topics will include manners, interviewing and social media etiquette, budgeting, banking and finances. We will discuss various responsibility topics such as living arrangements, basic meals, scheduling and time management to name a few! Students will go through the simulated process of finding a job, budgeting, finding housing, and other every day tasks. Students should come with a dedicated notebook for this class on the first day. If enough students are returning from last semester, this will be a continuation of things already discussed.
