About Us
Statement of Faith
CHAT is a Christian co-op for families involved in home education. As a Christian group, we find that our members have basic beliefs in common, though our group includes many facets of the Christian faith. Applicants for membership in CHAT must affirm their belief in these statements by their signature on the Statement of Faith and Code of Coduct Agreement. Our members believe:The Bible is the only complete, inspired Word of God from Genesis to Revelation without any errors. (II Tim. 3:16, Psalm 119:89, I Pet. 1:25, Deut.4:2, Prov. 30:5-6)
God exists Himself in three persons – distinctly different, but yet one and the same: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (I Tim. 3:16, Matt. 3:16-17)
All men are in violation of God's law by nature and act. As a result, all are under His condemnation. (Rom. 3:10, Rom. 3:23)
Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God the Father was given out of love to pay the penalty for the sins of all mankind, and only through His blood can the sinner be cleansed of their sins. He died on the cross for our sins and rose again on the third day. ( John 3:15-18, I John 1:9)
Man cannot save himself from God's condemnation by his own works, but must receive His free gift of salvation through the grace of God which is our only way to Heaven. (Rom. 10:9-13, Eph. 2:8-9)
You will find a wide variety of motivational forces behind our members' desires to home school. The majority of our members are home educating because of their belief in their God-given responsibility to oversee and supervise the education of their children.

Our Purpose
CHAT Cooperative Classes were created to enrich the education of homeschooled students by offering a variety of recreational activities, enrichment classes, information, fellowship and support in your efforts to educate your children. It was thought that if we could pool our resources, our children's education would be greatly enriched.
NOTE: CHAT Cooperative Classes are for enrichment only and will not satisfy the Georgia requirement for school hours unless otherwise noted as "for credit" in the individual class descriptions.

Our History
CHAT began from a home schooling support group called REACH in the 1980's. It was the first public home school support group in Cherokee County. REACH (Responsible Education Achieved in Caring Homes) was a secular organization until 1992, when the membership voted unanimously to recognize CHAT as a christian group, with Christ-centered goals and focus. The Cooperative Education classes were added in 1994 to further aid families in their efforts to educate their children. CHAT continues to grow in spirit and serve the needs of its members with a unique feeling of acceptance and Christian agape love.
